Environmental health

The organization of environmental health is made up of health inspectors and veterinarians. The task of the health inspectors and hygienist veterinarians is to implement foodstuffs supervision; the supervision of flats, water for household consumption, swimming water and of product safety; as well as supervision in accordance with the Tobacco Act and Animal Protection Act. The operational area of health inspectors and hygienist veterinarians covers the Seinäjoki region.

In addition to their veterinary work, the practicing, hygienist and supervision veterinarians carry out inspections of primary production and inspections based on the Animal Protection Act. The veterinarians' emergency duty area is comprised of Seinäjoki, Isokyrö, Laihia and Vähäkyrö.
