Library Card

The library card is personal and the owner of it is responsible for all materials borrowed on the card.

You can get a library card by presenting your ID with a photograph. Under 15 year-olds have to get consent from a parent or a guardian to get a library card. A person who has lost his/her borrowing right can not act as a guarantor. The library card must be presented whenever you borrow or reserve material or want to use the Internet in the library.

By signing the library card you undertake to obey library rules, to return the borrowed material and to pay the set fees. If the library card disappears please notify the library immediately to prevent misuse. You should also notify the library of a new address, phone number or name. You are responsible for the borrowed items and fees until the card is reported lost. The first library card is free of charge, new card replacing a damaged or lost one costs 3 €.

You lose your right to borrow items if you have over 10 € of unpaid charges or if the library has charged overdue material from you. You get your borrowing rights back by returning the overdue material, paying all charges or paying or substituting the damaged/lost material.

You can get a PIN code from the library so that you can use the Seitti Internet Service. In the Internet service you can renew your loans and make reservations. The PIN code is also needed when you borrow material with the self-service terminal. The password is not given by phone or e-mail.
